The Showcase will be well represented the creative outcomes by MAD Y2 students of CTV1013 Introduction to Media Aesthetics in UICDCCMAD. The students explore various kinds of media arts and its representations, for instance digital video and animation, stop-motion animation, cartoon, video-collage, or any kind of digital mix-media to create “2 Minutes Media Art for Fame” (Warhol, 1968). As referred to The Medium is the Message (McLuhan, 1964), the imageries employed are well illustrated from their study in Media Arts and Design (MAD), for examples Expressionism, Surrealism, Feminism, and Modernism to Post-modernism etc. The students also adopt different approaches, such as a psychological approach (how moving image can be connoted and denoted with psychological analysis, audience behavior, and frameworks into their creative outcomes) or visual approach (how to use visual elements/ compositions to express their visual/ emotional reaction). By emerging different kinds of media materials/ skills/ aesthetics, finally their work of art can be self-expressed, self-represented, self-explained, and self-evaluative as a higher level of media communication and creative thinking.
