Prof Mao Yaqing elected Chairperson of the council of the Branch for Sino-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools

The 5th Academic Symposium and Leadership Transition Conference of the Branch for Sino-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools, Guangdong Association of Higher Education, was held on 27 December 2025. Party Secretary of the University Party Committee and Vice President (Administration) of Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU) Prof Mao Yaqing, was elected Chairperson of the second council of the Branch for Sino-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools. Dr Vivien Chan, Director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and Acting Deputy Registrar of BNBU, was appointed as the Branch's Secretary-General.

Prof Mao Yaqing said that the Branch would leverage BNBU's resources to advance high-quality development through four key areas: deepening research, establishing exchange platforms, enhancing industry services, and strengthening the Branch's own institutional development.

The symposium gathered over 200 representatives from universities and experts from across the province and beyond to discuss the new missions and pathways for cooperative education in serving national strategies and advancing the high-quality development of higher education. Prof Tze-ki Hon of BNBU's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences delivered a keynote address at a sub-forum sharing insights on the challenges and considerations facing higher education cooperation in the mid-21st century.
