UIC Participated in Toronto, Canada Undergraduate Fair

Published on 16 October 2008

On September 14-15, 2008, UIC was represented in the Canada Undergraduate Fair held in Toronto, the largest city and economic capital of Canada.

Over two thousand canadian students and parents, high school counselors, and exhibitors representing universities in USA, Europe, and Asia had an opportunity to get to know UIC in the Fair. Prof. Anthony M.Y. Chan, UIC's new special adviser of international development and research, and two local assistants distributed to visitors hundreds of brochures, CD, newsletters, and souvenir pens. Dr. Wendy Chan, UIC's Associate Vice-President, visited the Fair and talked to students and parents. They collected a list of email addresses of Canadian students who wanted to keep in touch.

During the Fair, Prof. Chan made connection with dozens of overseas universities, and some of them had expressed serious interest in future collaboration with UIC. An important time slot for UIC at the Fair was the morning of September 15 which was open to high school counselors only. Most of the counselors at the Fair were impressed with UIC's international curricula in English and with its whole person education approach. The fair helped them to put forward UIC as an option when their students were considering to study in China.
