In the forum, Prof Guan Pinfang from Division Business and Management Division gave a lecture on the Chinese financial industry and RMB internationalization. He said that improvement on credibility, liquidity, demand sensitivity and supply was needed for RMB to become a currency of international reserve. In his view, developing a close relationship between China and ASEAN was the first step towards regionalization and internationalization. He also mentioned that the interpenetration in the financial industry had become irrevocable, and relative supervisory system would be needed subsequently.

Famous Chinese fund manager Ms. Zhao Ping forecasted the Chinese stock market with her "four dimensional quantitative research theory". Based of the quantitative analysis of the monthly charts of the stock market in the past 24 months, she said the market trend is in order. She confirmed the method of quantitative analysis to forecast the market in the early phases of the market.

UIC Executive Vice-President Kwok Siu Tong stated that, the forum on finance marked the cooperation between UIC and Guangdong Development Bank. He showed great appreciation for all distinguished guests who shared their philosophies with students. He said, investment was not only a quest for money, but also a reminder of reflection on life experiences. The establishment of UIC was a high-risk investment because it assumed the responsibility of developing a brand-new teaching concept and model, delightfully it was a success.

Guangdong Development bank would join efforts with UIC to protect mangroves. Representatives of Guangdong Development Bank promised that, one RMB would be donated to the Zhuhai Mangrove Protection Foundation if one card was issued; 0.5 RMB would go to donation if the card was utilized for consumption once. It was estimated that the foundation could get a big donation of 1,000,000 RMB from Guangdong Development Bank within one year. UIC had set up an internship base for environmental education and volunteer service.
