The event was held in the Yingzhou Ecology Park in Guangzhou. The organizer of this event: Intrinsic-for students and youth is a registered organization based in Hong Kong that offers various language and cultural exchange programs, according to their official website.
50 students from universities in Guangdong Province took part in the final. During the final, students were required to go through a series of tests within two hours to balance task completion and time, which greatly challenged students' endurance and abilities of adapting to the environment. These 50 participants had stood out from the Round One Online Test and Round Two Special Interview. Previous interviews mainly tested English communicative ability, social acceptability, personal character and the degree of familiarity to the whole program.
The three UIC students' performance gained high recognition from the organizer. Program Director of Intrinsic-for students and Youth Hins stated that, UIC students had high English proficiency, good flexibility and very excellent comprehensive quality, which left a deep impression.
The first prize winner Li Cuimei said, she could feel how strongly her success was related to UIC Whole Person Education. She added that, she had adapted to the whole-English teaching model in UIC, which put her to an advantage over the competition.
