Mr. Giff Searls, Project Manager of Admission and Career Development Office, met with several well-known multinational companies such as International Paper and Walmart this summer. During this trip, Mr.Searls mainly introduced UIC's unique teaching model and sought job opportunities for UIC students.

Mr. Searls met with Mr. Paul Brown, President-Asia of International Paper
These famous companies which Mr.Searls visited included International Paper, Unilever, Cargill, Walmart, Campbell Soup and VF Corporation, whose brands covers Nautica, Lee Jeans, North Face and many others. These companies have expressed interest in an association with UIC for internship programs leading to placements. 
Mr. Searls met with Karen Jin, Sr.Manager-Talent Sourcing & Selection and Joanna Zheng, Regional Director, North China
In addition, Mr. Searls became a new member of the Chicago China Club of Shanghai. This club has over 500 members and promotes business between Chicago and China.
Mr. Searls believes that UIC students are competitive in today's market, "the educational pattern of UIC is unique, which is characterized by English Teaching and Whole Person Education. This kind of student is what today's companies are looking for".
UIC has placed students at the following multinational companies like: KPMG, China Mobile, Sealed Air Packaging, Deloitte, Johnson Controls, kimberley-Clark etc. Our goal is to broaden our internships and programmes with these companies.
