The Panel meeting on College Research Grant research project evaluation was held by Research Office recently. 29 projects obtained the research funds. The projects cover the research fields of science and technology, business and management, humanities and social sciences, and teaching and education development.
The Panel was composed of senior academic experts from both HKBU and UIC. Following the project evaluation procedures approved by the Research Coordinating Committee, the Panel reviewed and evaluated all the projects based on the comments from each academic unit and external reviewers. After careful discussion and consideration, detailed comments and suggestions were given by the Panel to each project, and 29 research projects have got the funds, including 2 projects on teaching and education development.
College Research Grant will be provided to those 29 projects and the Research Office will coordinate with the Finance Office for the management and the use of the funds. Meanwhile, Research Office is responsible for monitoring the research progress, and the project mid-term assessment as well as completion verification.
The first round of College Research Grant in May 2010 has produced active reaction in UIC, which has aroused the faculty's interest in research and has greatly promoted the research atmosphere and level of our College.
College Research Grant is open for application once a year. 31 research proposals were received for this round of application. More research projects and more participation by teaching staff are expected next year.
