The UIC QP Case Competition Celebration Ceremony was held on 29th December 2010 in Room B101. In the 2nd HKICPA QP Case Competition (2010), two excellent UIC teams stood out from more than 200 teams nationwide and won the Championship and Award of Merit. The second and third places were respectively taken by Zhongnan University of Economics and Law and Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics.
There were 239 teams from universities all over mainland China participated in that 2010's competition, including many top universities such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. 14 teams of UIC business students took part in the competition and 8 of them entered into the second round. Finally, two teams were shortlisted into the Final Round. One team coached by Mr. Joseph Liang won the Championship and another team supervised by Mr. Ben Wong received an Award of Merit.

Both wining teams came from the Year 3 Accounting major. The four members of Champion team were Huang Beibei (Leader), Sun Meiyue, Tan Jingyan and Ye Jinwen. The Award of Merit team was composed of Chen Xi, Gong Yingjing (Leader), Song Anan and Zeng Qi. 13,000 RMB and a trophy were awarded to the Champion team and the Merit team was granted 1,000 RMB cash prize. Students in Champion team also obtained an internship opportunity at famous CPA firms in Hong Kong.
At the Celebration Ceremony, Prof. Ching-Fai Ng, President of UIC, spoke highly of UIC students' outstanding performance. He also expressed his appreciation of student participants’ positive attitude and efforts. President Ng and Vice President Prof. Zee Sze Yong awarded to winners and the students who participated in the competition respectively. Vice President Prof. Zhang Cong, Associate Vice President Dr. Wendy Chan, Dean of Division of Business and Management Prof. Stella Cho and coach teacher Mr. Joseph Liang and Mr. Ben Wong were present at the ceremony.

The winning students shared precious experience from taking part in the competition, and also expressed their sincere thanks to the DBM advisors, the ELC teachers, and the CTV student helpers and teachers.
Prof. Stella Cho, Dean of Division of Business and Management, was very pleased with the result. "Even though the difficulty of competition increased a lot this year, our UIC students still make outstanding performance." Prof. Cho said that the conscientious students, high quality professors and well-designed educational systems were the three main keys to success. In the interview, Prof. Cho also expressed her sincere gratitude to those devoted and attentive advisors. At the end, Prof. Cho encouraged UIC students to take part in similar contests more often.

The Qualification Programme (QP) Case Analysis Competition was an inter-tertiary event aimed at developing students' business skills, cultivating professional judgment and preparing themselves for real business environment. The Competition has carved a niche among local universities and received accolades and support from eminent professionals and academics across the profession. In firstly Competition held in PRC in 2009, UIC students did a very good job and won the Second Prize and Merit Award.
