Dear teachers and colleagues,
Under the beautiful autumn sky, Teachers' Day and Mid-Autumn Festival is with us. On behalf of the college, I would like to pay tribute to all UIC staff and express my warm greetings.
In the past years, UIC has cherished the concept of "students come first" to build up a warm and close relationship between teachers and students. In my recent conversations with parents I have heard vivid stories about changes and improvements among students. Parents expressed ungrudging gratitude. I think it is the most precious tribute to teachers as well as the best recognition for UIC.
It is self-evident that teachers should take good care of students. The question is "how"? At UIC we have implemented the Mentor Caring Programme (MCP). It is a special bond between teachers and students. Programmes on life management, emotional management are not found in traditional models, but are applicable and useful.
Management of MCP has been adjusted and improved during these years. Now it is organized under the division, which is more effective and allows for faster feedbacks from students and parents. To make MCP the unique feature of UIC, teachers in UIC have devoted tremendous efforts, and I must sincerely say "thank you" again.
The new academic year has brought us the biggest class of Year 1 students as well as many new colleagues. New people always brings new vitality. I am sure a more lively and vigorous community will appear on our campus.
I wish you a happy, healthy, and successful school year!
Have a nice holiday!
