UIC strengthens relations with Japan

Invited by Minakami Town Hall in Gunma Prefecture, President Ng Ching Fai and Mrs. Ng visited Japan in March 26-30, accompanied by CFLC lecturer Ms. Xiao Lin.

On March 28, President Ng met Mr. Osawa Massaaki, governor of Gunma Prefecture; was interviewed by regional daily newspaper “Jomo Shimbu”, Ng revealed that UIC has been working with academic institutions worldwide, Minakami is the only regional government in Japan that has ties with UIC.

Ng also met UIC graduate Ms. Yajie Xie in Tokyo. Ms. Xie is studying a postgraduate course at the University of Tokyo. She went to Minakami for a ski trip while she was at UIC and her love for the country grew.

Minakami is known as the “home of handcrafters”. In September 2010, Minakami town mayor Mr. Kisiyosi Masa came to UIC and signed a cooperation agreement on education, culture, sports and art.
