
Three professors from Trinity University, Texas, came to UIC on 1 June to discuss cooperation in an environmental study summer programme, following a visit by a UIC delegation to the Associated Colleges of the South in April.
The visitors from the US university were Prof Stephen Field, J.K. and Ingrid Lee Professor of Chinese; Prof David Ribble, Professor of Biology; as well as Dr Chia-Wei Lee, Associate Professor of the Department of Music. They bid to develop a potential summer programme in 2016 with UIC’s Whole Person Education Office (WPEO) and Environmental Science Programme.
On 2 June, UIC President Prof Ng Ching-Fai hosted a dinner for the guests. Also attending the dinner were Dean of the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences as well as Chairperson of the Committee for International Development Prof Mei-hwa Sung, Dean of the Division of Business and Management Prof Stella Cho, Dean of the Division of Science and Technology Prof Stephen Chung, Director of General Education Office Prof Mildred Yang, Director of International Development Office Dr Katharina Yu, Programme Director of the Environmental Science Dr Lee Chiu-Hong, in addition to Coordinator of WPEO’s Environment and Development Centre Dr Siu-tai Tsim.
