On 17 December 2025, Beijing Normal–Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU) held its 2024–2025 Scholarship Presentation Ceremony to recognise students’ outstanding achievements in academics, research, and practical engagement.

During the academic year, BNBU offered more than 30 types of scholarships, including three newly established awards: the President Tang Tao Liberal Arts Scholarship, the Prof Fang Kai-Tai Scholarship, and the Collins Family Centre for Foreign Languages Scholarship Award Scheme. In total, scholarships were presented on more than 2,500 occasions.

The President Tang Tao Liberal Arts Scholarship, initiated by BNBU’s second president and Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Prof Tang Tao, focuses on Science and Technology, Humanities and Business, and the Integration of Arts and Technology. It aims to promote interdisciplinary learning and complementary skill development to better prepare students for future challenges.
The Prof Fang Kai-Tai Scholarship, established by Prof Fang Kai-Tai, Emeritus Professor of the Faculty of Science and Technology, supports undergraduate students in Statistics and Data Science, encouraging research innovation and well-rounded development.
Meanwhile, the Collins Family Centre for Foreign Languages Scholarship was donated by the family of a former Centre staff member, recognising students’ excellence in English learning and practical application.
Addressing the ceremony, BNBU President Prof Chen Zhi congratulated the award recipients on their dedication and perseverance. He encouraged students to continue developing both intellect and character, to pursue excellence in their future careers, and to contribute meaningfully to society. Prof Chen also expressed sincere gratitude to donors and faculty members whose support and commitment have created opportunities for students to thrive.

Student representative Zhou Yuqing, a fourth-year student majoring in Applied Translation Studies, shared her experience as a multiple award recipient this year, including the National Scholarship, the Dean’s Award, and the Prof Xu Jialu Whole Person Education Award. In addition to academic achievements and competition awards, she has participated in professional translation work for Phoenix Television and served at major international events such as the China International Import Expo and the Canton Fair. “From campus to society, from the classroom to the international stage, BNBU has given me not only recognition through scholarships, but also the courage to explore the world and understand myself,” she said.

During the ceremony, donor representatives, BNBU senior management and faculty members presented certificates to award recipients. Students who excelled in the University’s new logo typeface design competition were also specially recognised.
