Published on 31 May 2010

During the 2010 SIFE China National Competition which was held on May 21st and 22nd in Shanghai, UIC SIFE succeeded at winning the second prize.  In the award ceremony, UIC SIFE was also elected the most popular team for its highest aggregate scores.

In the competition, UIC delegates brought a total of three operating projects: Uni-Color Project, EOP (Economic Opportunity Programme) and Unilever College Student Successful Skills Program. UIC SIFE successfully ranked among the top 20 national teams relying on every candidate's fluent English and performance. Unfortunately, UIC SIFE was defeated by the champion, the University of Nottingham Ningbo, in the cut-throat semi-final competition.

Although UIC missed the championship this time, our representatives' enormous enthusiasm and courage left a good impression on the judges and rivals.  Two year-three students, Xiang Shuo and Liu Yefeng even gained additional opportunities to have interviews for internship in Unilever.

Karen Lee, the faculty adviser of UIC SIFE, briefly summarized the event:  "Due to many reasons such as lacking of experience, we did not perform as good as last year.  However, our team still fully displayed their talents.  Whole personal education, English learning environment and other majors' students' assistance contributed a lot to the success.  Moreover, joining this event is a great opportunity to practice these students' skills."
