The Six Countries' Children and Youth Forum is an International forum which is held by six countries in the subzone of Mekong. They include China, Cambodia, Burma, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam. The aim of this forum is to protect relevant rights of the children and the youth and help them grow up healthily and happily. You Fangkun will be the consultant to assist them to organize the activity, due to his former experience of taking part in several international voluntary service programmes organized by the World Labour Organization and the Save the Children Organization of UK.

"I seldom cared about the youth's living conditions before I took part in these activities, which enlightened me a lot. All of these activities helped me learn to pay attention to these people and I will try my best to give them a hand," said Yao. He added that: "When the governments set relevant policies, they shouldn't ignore the communication with the youth and their participation rights. My obligation is to express their thought and voice their opinions. Participating in such kind of activity also makes me see the human right from a higher perspective."

Since the forum is an international one, English is its official English. Talking of this, You Fangkun mentioned that UIC's English teaching benefited him a lot. He could adapt to the working environment and do the job well thanks to his study experience at UIC. Moreover, he said that his former major in Social Work and Social Administration was also of great help.
