Hundreds of UIC teachers and students celebrated the Thanksgiving Day at the United Square of Student Hostel Cultural Village on November 25, the fourth Thursday in November. The party was organized by the Students' Union and the Students Affairs Office. Prof. Ng Ching-fai, President of UIC and Prof. Johnston Huang, Director of SAO, Nancy Wu, Programme Coordinator of CTV and a few foreign teachers were present.

The party began with fantastic musical performances by Brandon's violin and Thomas's guitar, followed by students' singing, dancing, and even magic. A boy's popping crew and a girl's jazz dancing won thundering applauses. Foreign students also gave wonderful performances. Ryan, a Korean exchange student, sang a Korean song. Emma from Minnesota sang a traditional thanksgiving song and sharing her experiences on Thanksgiving Day. In addition, the orchestra band also played exhilarating music.

A big and tasty turkey and pumpkin soup was served. Every student could enjoy a small amount of it as long as queuing.

Quick-answering quiz with bonus presents was woven into the party. Many presents were sent out because of the students' active responses to the questions about Thanksgiving. Students were also welcome to go to the comment board and write down their thanksgiving to whoever they want.

Off the stage, many small games were organized by students, such as running with balloons, snatching chairs, balloon breaker, two persons with three legs, straw transport, word of mouth, etc.

The party did not last too long so as not to interrupt students staying in their dorm rooms.
