The case was to analyze a company’s bankruptcy and provide new solutions. Their Innovative ideas, excellent English presentation skills and collaborative teamwork made a deep impression on the judges.
The four students are Jeff Jiang, Sherlock Wu (team leader), Victor Jin and Grace Luo. “Focusing on team work is the cornerstone of our success,” said Sherlock Wu, the team leader. In addition to their hard work, the four members also attributed the success to UIC’s international educational approaches and advanced academic levels. One of their mentors Prof. Peter Lam mentioned: “Our curriculum with international standards focuses on case study and report, which effectively improves students’ verbal ability and enables them to better articulate their thinking.”
Prof. Stella Cho, Dean of Business and Management Division, was quite happy with the result. “We strongly encourage students to participate in this kind of competitions, as it helps them apply theories into practice. Competitions offer students good opportunities to explore the real business world, which is helpful for their future development. Prof. Cho believes that in pace with the enhancement of reputation and quality of students, UIC teams will make greater achievements in the future.
