St. Joseph's College Short Term Program in Zhuhai

Published on 18 January 2013

Seven students and three professors visited UIC from St. Joseph’s College, Indiana, U.S.A. and attended a short term tailor made program from 5 to 7 January 2013. During the three days the group has visited a number of sites in Zhuhai including the Jintai Temple and the Fisher Girl’s statue.

The visitors had a lecture on Chinese language and culture and learnt a few useful Chinese expressions. Some of the students expressed an interest in UIC and they said that they would like to return to UIC as exchange students. There was a lively discussion session for UIC and St. Joseph’s College students where cultural and lifestyle differences were discussed. Both groups of students greatly appreciated the informal exchange of ideas and information.

The International Development Office and the Four Point Education Coordination Office had some useful discussions with Dr. Chau-Ming T. Wong, Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Assessment and Professor Linda McFarland, Director of MBA Program about the future possibilities for collaboration between St. Joseph’s College and UIC.
