Austrian UIC student Alex Xiaoou Yang was credited on the day of the graduation ceremony with winning the 2013 Guangdong Government Outstanding International Student Scholarship. Dean of the Division of Business and Management Prof Stella Cho and Programme Director of Finance Dr Kenneth Ho presented a certificate to him.
This annual scholarship of 10,000 yuan is presented by Guangdong’s Department of Education and Department of Finance. It is for international students who have spent no less than a year studying in a Guangdong university and performed exceptionally well in their academic field of expertise.
Alex and his team-mates won the national accounting Qualification Programme Case Analysis Competition in 2012. In the future, he intends to pursue a Double MSc degree at the London School of Economics and Peking University.
