BNBU held an inauguration ceremony for its Red Cross Society on 15 May 2025.

"This marks a vivid integration of liberal arts education and the humanitarian spirit of the Red Cross," said BNBU President Prof Chen Zhi. He noted that since BNBU's founding, the university has actively engaged in public service initiatives. He expressed hope that the Red Cross will serve as a key platform for promoting first aid knowledge, encouraging more students to participate in volunteer work, and cultivating a strong sense of social responsibility.

Ms Chen Zhiying, Party Secretary and Executive Vice President of the Red Cross Society of China Zhuhai Branch, emphasised that this marks a milestone in the integration of Red Cross services with higher education in Zhuhai. As the first Red Cross established in an internationally oriented university in the city, it paves the way for exploring new models that merge humanitarian work with globalised education in the Greater Bay Area.
