Professor Chen, an internationally renowned expert, scholar and educator in computer science, has served at Peking University (PKU) for more than 30 years. He received his PhD from PKU in 1989, subsequently joining its CS department, and he was promoted as a full professor in 1995. Over the years, Professor Chen has held several key roles including Founding Dean of the School of Software and Microelectronics, Chairman of Computer Science Department, and Director of Key-Lab of Network and Software Assurance Technology Ministry of Education. Prior to joining Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University, he served at the School of Computer Science and Director of the Metaverse Technology Institute, as well as the Director of the Network and Information Security Laboratory and the Blockchain Research Centre, PKU.
Professor Chen has achieved remarkable results and accumulated rich experience in research, teaching, management, social service, and industrialisation. His research interests include Domain-specific Software Engineering, Network and Information Security, AI & Blockchain Technology, etc. He has published over 180 research papers and 5 academic books, supervised more than 150 PhD and Master’s degree students, and received over 20 national and provincial-level scientific and technological research project grants. A recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the 5th China Youth Science and Technology Award and 2 National Science & Technology Progress Awards, he has also made significant contributions to industrial R&D and academic innovation. In addition, he is an active leader in professional organizations, including the China Computer Federation and AI Security Governance Committee.
