General Education

General Education (GE) provides a foundation of a well-rounded college education and promotes whole person excellence through the offering of General Education programme (GEP), aiming at providing students with opportunities to expose themselves to a rich array of knowledge, transferable skills, and principles of UIC graduate attributes. The GEP encompasses multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary courses offered by the Divisions and other Academic Units; it is operated under the direction of the Committee on General Education (CGE). The General Education Office serves dual functions in assisting the CGE to administer the GEP and offering GE courses in areas such as: foreign languages, history and civilisation, philosophy, law, sociology, and public health.
