With the development of the science and technology, the computational and applied mathematics have been playing an increasingly important role in a variety of practical applications such as optimal design of the vehicles, functional material analysis, new energy exploration. Recently, the emerging deep learning has already been successfully introduced in solving partial differential equations, which brings exciting opportunity on developing new theory and numerical methods.

On the occasion of establishment of the Mathematics Center of BNU-UIC, and the proposed program in Applied Mathematics by the Division of Science and Technology of UIC, we organize the Workshop on Computational and Applied Mathematics to provide the researchers from mainland China the chance for sharing their recent work and for exchanging research ideas. The topic of the workshop covers all aspects in the computational and applied mathematics.
