In addition to our already established career alliances like KPMG, China Mobile, Coloplast, Agricultural Bank, new members now includes: PEPSICO, FEDEX, Sealed Air Packaging (Cryovac®) in Shanghai and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu CPA Ltd. in Guangzhou. Mr. Giff Searls, Associate Director of the Student Career Development Office UIC brought back this news after visits to these companies in August. Joining Mr. Searls from UIC at Deloitte were Prof. Stella Cho, Dean of DBM and Mr. Vincent Wong, Deputy Director of SCDO.

Mr. Searls met with the top managerial personnel from the above mentioned companies, including Cheah-Sean Kuan Thye (K.T.), Managing Director of Human Resources in the China Region from FedEx Express, Elaine Zou, Human Resource Manager from PEPSICO, Li Xin, General Business Manager Asia, Cryovac Packaging, Sealed Air Packaging (China) Co. Ltd., and Cindy Huang, Senior Manager of Human Resources from Deloitte, etc. During the meetings these companies expressed great interest to establish alliances with UIC, providing mentorship, internship and placement opportunities. Our unique model of liberal arts education, all taught in English and our whole person education, focusing on EQ and AQ teaching is an advantage when considering to whom they would like to offer these opportunities.
Furthermore, these companies expressed their intention to come to UIC during the first term for a Career Day to present their companies and introduce more about their mentorship, internship and placement opportunities.
