Graduates and Parents Enjoyed Commencement Day

On November 7th, UIC's first commencement ceremony was held at HKBU and the first class of graduates of UIC was given the Bachelor's Degrees in the presence of more than 300 parents.

In the afternoon, a celebration reception was organized by the Alumni Relations Office of HKBU to welcome the inaugural UIC graduates into the HKBU family, and in the evening, a dinner reception was organized for the graduates and their parents by the Four Point Education Office of UIC. Many graduates and parents said that UIC had made remarkable development, they were glad that they had made a choice without regret.

A parent expressed gratitude to UIC during interview

Meng Ran, a UIC graduate who is now a fulltime graduate student at Hong Kong Institute of Education summarized her four years' life at UIC as full of interest. Her father who works for the Beijing Normal University said UIC took the lead in innovation in higher education in mainland China. He was very glad to see the progress which her daughter made in the past four years.

Liang Kuang as a UIC graduate from Hong Kong is now an accountant in a large-scaled factory in mainland China. Her mother Miss Liang said that he overcome his inactivity to develop into an aspiring person and had decided to stay in mainland China for career development. She expressed her appreciation for UIC. She said the reason why they chose UIC was because they had faith in UIC, and they never regretted their choice.

Another UIC graduate named Yang Ming is studying at Hong Kong City University for his graduate degree now. His mother also attributed his progress to UIC's cultivation.

Distinguished guests toasted to UIC's achievements

HKBU and UIC President Professor Ng Ching Fai, Executive Vice-President Professor Kwok Siu Tong, Dean of Science and Technology Division Prof. S.Y.Zee, Associate Vice President: Dr. Wendy Chan, Dean of Business and Management Division Prof. Stella Cho were in attendance. They gave congratulations and posed for joint photos with graduates and parents. Dr. Charles Koo, President of the HKBU Alumni Association welcomed UIC graduates to join them and to make concerted efforts to support UIC's development.
