On the morning of August 28th, the first batch of new students arrived at the International Centre where UIC set up counters of reception. The students were offered hostel rooms in the Liberal Education Hall, Students Hostel Cultural Village(SHCV), and the Yanhua Garden, among which the Liberal Education Hall is a newly launched student hostel with the concept of Hall Culture which prevails in European, U.S. and Hong Kong universities.

The hostel check-in process went smoothly. Wengjie, a student from Ningbo,
was offered a room in the LE Hall. Her father who helped her with the check-
in procedure said: "The check-in was very smooth, and the working staff here
are very passionate, and I didn't expect the facilities to be so complete."
Guo Jingwen, a new student from Foshan, also spoke highly of the SHCV
surroundings.

The Academic Registration was also carried through in order at the registration center at SHCV. The college set up tents to provide shadow for parent as they waited for their children to complete the registration process, as well as shuttle buses to transport students between the International Centre and SHCV. At the registration center, students lined up to submit different forms needed in respective rooms, while UIC staffs and volunteer student helpers provided orientation.
