EOs from 21 enterprises in the Pearl River Delta Region participated a Zen Buddhist culture experiential training provided by UIC's Whole Person Education Office on Oct 30-31. The training held in the Yinhing Temple in Lantao Island of Hong Kong was found beneficial by many CEO participants.

The training followed the "experiential learning" approach. Master Yan Wei of the Yinhing Temple introduced the Zen Buddhist culture. Dr. Ghee Ho, Director of the Emotional Intelligence Development Center of WPEO and Coach Andy Lin also systematically explained the theory of Emotional Intelligence in relation to Zen Buddhism, leading the participants to share their gracefulness, explore the value of life and acquire wisdom from their reflections.

A luxury yacht party and golfing was part of the training, threading learning and recreation. It also provided a platform of nurturing and extending network.

Many CEOs said a peaceful attitude was much needed for their business and personal life. They found this training very helpful and spoke highly of the models of Whole Person Education and "experiential learning".

"This was the first time WPEO provided training to CEOs. Good results had been achieved and some CEOs expressed wishes for further cooperation", said Dr. Tony Shi, Associate Director of WPEO and manager of this training. He also added that: "In the future, WPEO might design more courses and cooperate with the Admission and Career Development Office and Four-Point Education Office to provide training courses to transnational enterprises."
