Prof. Waldemar Pfoertsch, a distinguished Marketing expert from Hochschule Pforzheim University, visited UIC on 1 February 2013 and had fruitful discussions with Prof. Stella Cho, Dean of Division of Business and Management, and Dr. Katalin Illes, Director of International Development Office (IDO).

This partnership was initiated by Ms. Katharina Yu Schmidt, Coordinator of the Centre for Foreign Languages and Cultures in UIC, and promoted in both institutions.
Hochschule Pforzheim University is one of the leading new universities in Germany. There are around 5000 students in the School of Design, School of Engineering and Business School. The University encourages students to study a semester abroad and have already developed many fruitful international partnerships all around the world.
Hochschule Pforzheim University's Business School is AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accredited. The Business School puts a lot of emphasis on balancing theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the curricula, in which accounting and finance courses are particularly highly regarded both nationally and internationally.
There is a good synergy between the Hochschule Pforzheim University's and UIC's academic content and educational philosophy.
Prof. Ng Ching-Fai, president of UIC, has recently signed an MOU and an Exchange Agreement with Prof. Martin Erhardt, Rector of Hochschule Pforzheim University. From the next academic year UIC students can apply for a one semester exchange programme to study at the new partner institution in Germany. UIC will also welcome German students from Pforzheim to Zhuhai.
