UIC conferred its first Honorary Fellowships last year

Hong Kong Baptist University started granting Honorary University Fellowships at its 50th anniversary in 2006, and UIC conferred its first Honorary Fellowships last year in keeping with the tradition.

This year UIC recognizes, as Honorary Fellows, these four persons who over a period of many years have rendered extraordinary support for the College and exceptional service for the public:

Dr. Moses M.C. Cheng is the senior partner of P.C. Woo & Co. He is an outstanding lawyer and community leader in Hong Kong.

Over the past 30 years, Dr. Cheng has been an indefatigable supporter of the community, and very involved in the development of education and youth. Of particular relevance to UIC is Dr. Cheng’s contribution to the higher educational sector. From 1997 to 2006, he served as Chairman of the Council and Court of Hong Kong Baptist University, and it was due to his helmsmanship that the UIC endeavour was made a reality.

Dr. William Jeffrey Craft, President of Concordia College, is a distinguished educator, scholar and humanitarian. His career has been marked by extensive and excellent achievements and particularly by his passionate commitment to the liberal arts and the goal of educating each student as a “whole person”.

Since assuming the presidency of Concordia College in July 2011, Dr. Craft has been striving to create vital partnerships with regional, national, and international institutions such as UIC.

Dr. Craft has brought energy and eloquence to his work as a scholar and educational leader. Last November at the MPCC-UIC Annual Conference on Liberal Arts Education held at UIC, the audience witnessed his sincerity and gifts fully on display.
