“If it wasn’t for their support, I would not be here today,” said Year Three Accounting student Zhu Weiqi at the Celebration Ceremony in UIC on 12 December, referring to his advisor, teachers and teammates.
His team won the Qualification Programme Case Analysis Competition 2013 in November. Three UIC teams were awarded in this national accounting competition. One was crowned champions and received the Best Presenter Award. A second team came in as runner-up and received the Best Written Report Award. The third team ranked fourth overall and obtained the Merit Team Award.

Celebrating the excellent results were UIC President Prof Ng Ching-Fai, Vice Presidents Prof Zee Sze-Yong and Prof Zhang Cong, Managing Director for Financial Planning and Development Mr Nelson Chan, Dean of the Division of Business and Management (DBM) Prof Stella Cho, and other staff and students.
Prof Cho said, “Today’s ceremony is held to celebrate the winning team’s achievements, to recognise the active participation of our business students and to express appreciation for our DBM advisors’ support to students.”
She revealed that there were 433 contesting groups from China's top universities, that five out of 16 DBM teams entered the second round of the Competition, and three of them competed in the national finals and achieved exceptional results.

Prof Ng Ching-Fai said he was proud of the students’ outstanding achievements, and extended his thanks to the advisors and colleagues who had “voluntarily helped the students on the project supervision, presentation training and rehearsal in the course of preparing for the Competition”.
