From 11 to 13 June, Dr Nazrul Islam went to the University of British Columbia to attend the Ninth International Conference on Interdisciplinary Social Sciences Conference, one of the largest events of its kind.
The Assistant Professor from our General Education Office presented part of his recent book project, “An Asian brand but Western product: Chinese and Indian medicine today”, to over 500 academics from 57 countries. Dr Islam's project is endorsed by UIC with a research grant.
After meeting renowned scholars from the University of British Columbia and the University of Alberta, Dr Islam stopped over in Toronto and shared his thoughts on developing interdisciplinary studies at UIC with academics from York University and the University of Toronto.
