“Change is inevitable and is part of nature,” said Dr Chung Kiu Wong at UIC’s High Table Dinner on 22 October. The rapid changes nowadays greatly affect people’s lives, and can be “characterised by the explosion of information and knowledge,” according to Dr Wong.

Dr CK Wong is founder of iASPEC Group and member of the Advisory Board of UIC’s Division of Science and Technology, and has held senior positions in international IT companies in the mainland and Hong Kong.

He spoke of the changes that the Internet has brought to the world and what it will force upon people if humans do not lead these changes in a proactive way.

He concluded by outlining some essential attributes of the Internet Age: a young mind to understand the complexity of the world, ability to master the knowledge and skills needed to deal with constant changes, intellectual breadth and moral strength to function and provide leadership, and wisdom to see the joy and rewards in life.

“Whole Person Education at UIC is designed to equip you with these attributes,” Dr Wong added.
