A panel from UIC’s parent institutions, Beijing Normal University (BNU) and Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), conducted a joint review of UIC for the first time on 27 and 28 April.

Upon UIC’s ten-year development, the panel recognised its enormous efforts and remarkable achievements.

In addition to panel convener and BNU Vice-President Prof Zhou Zuoyu, members included: BNU’s Deputy Academic Registrar He Liping, Prof Lin Jie from the Faculty of Education, Director of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office Prof Wang Xiumei; BNU Zhuhai’s Executive Vice-President Prof Fu Ailan; HKBU’s Associate Vice-Presidents Prof Huang Yu, Prof Ricky Wong and Prof Allan Chan, and Executive Associate Dean of Graduate Studies Prof Eva Man.

The panel members met with UIC President Prof Ng Ching-Fai, Vice Presidents Prof Zee Sze Yong and Prof Zhang Cong, and Associate Vice President Prof Lilian Kwan to gain an overview of the college’s status quo.

Discussions on every aspect of the college followed, with deans, programme directors, heads of course-offering, learning support and administrative units, academic and administrative staff members, student and graduate representatives, advisory committee members of the three divisions, and industrial partners.
