University students expressed their artistic creativity at the 24 Frames and Creative Media Festival 2016 held at UIC from 6 to 14 May.
The festival was a feast of seeing and hearing that provided Chinese and foreign university students with a stage to showcase their creativity, according to UIC President Prof Ng Ching-Fai.

The festival announced 12 awards at the opening ceremony on the afternoon of the first day. Wang Jin from the Beijing Film Academy won the Best Drama Film Award, Cinema and Television Programme (CTV) student He Sunan captured the Best Director Award, and the Best Production Award was given to another CTV student Ou Weixi’s Standing By.

A total of 36 productions were nominated from over 300, submitted by students from 30 universities in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and other countries. Famous directors Xiao Guiyun, Li Qiankuan, Lee Tso-Nam, Chen Hongyuan and other honoured guests attended the ceremony.

During the festival, directors discussed current issues on film making with participants, and gave film students who attended the improvisation competition advice. Cutting-edge equipment and technical innovations were also displayed.
UIC’s graduating CTV students also presented their final year projects at the 24 Frames session.
