Other activities were held throughout the week including ‘The Social Welfare Tour’, which was an arranged visit to the Zhuhai Social Welfare Centre for the Elderly on 20 March and 23 March. Students from the Social Work and Social Administration programme were the guides as they gave participants on this tour a chance to know home facilities for the elderly.

The audience members are actively engaged in the forum

A booth was set up at the Huixian Village Square under the name ‘To Love is to Act’ during the lunch hours on 20 and 21 March. This booth was to echo the theme of International Social Worker Day and to raise UICers’ awareness of the importance of interpersonal relationships. Postcards were prepared for visitors to write down words of care and tell their loved ones how important they are to them. The first 20 writers on that day had an opportunity to enjoy free postal service.
