Delegations from UIC, Gree Electric Appliances Inc. of Zhuhai (Gree Electric) and the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) came together on 9 April to explore the possibility of establishing a trilateral platform for scientific research and innovation for artificial intelligence.
A meeting was held for discussion at Gree Electric and was attended by UIC President Prof Tang Tao; UIC’s Vice President (Academic Affairs), Prof Chen Zhi; Assistant to President at UIC, Ms Lilian Li; Secretary of CPC for Zhuhai National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Mr Yan Haobo; Chairwoman of the Board of Gree Electric as well as UIC Honorary Fellow, Ms Dong Mingzhu; Assistant President and Senior Engineer of Gree Electric, Mr Fang Xiangjian; Distinguished Professor and Associate Vice President (Research Relationships China) at UTS, Prof Zhang Chengqi; as well as Distinguished Professor and Co-Director of the Centre for Autonomous Systems at UTS, Prof Liu Dikai.

Prof Tang Tao said that he hopes to make UIC a platform to promote cooperation between universities as well as between universities and enterprises.
