The Hong Kong Baptist University's 62nd Commencement -- UIC Session was held on 22 November 2021, presided over by Prof Alexander Ping-kong Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU. Some of the 2021 UIC graduates who were in Hong Kong attended the ceremony.

A total of 1,545 UIC students from the class of 2021 were awarded a Bachelor's degree from HKBU, with 36 of them receiving the Scholastic Awards and 323 receiving the First Class Honours. In addition, 369 postgraduates were awarded HKBU's Master's degree, with 39 of them awarded Scholastic Awards and five graduating with distinction.

Addressing the audience, interim Provost of Hong Kong Baptist University Professor Rick Wong hoped that the graduates would become noble modern-day Renaissance people, keep their kind-heartedness and intelligent minds, and explore new fields with enthusiasm. Moreover, they should believe that knowledge, wisdom, and skills would bring light and hope to society.

Huang Xinyi, a fresh graduate from the English Language and Literature Studies and currently studying for a Master's degree in English Studies at the University of Hong Kong, delivered a valedictorian speech. Huang said that at UIC, she found her future direction -- linguistics. Four years of study inspired her interest and laid a solid academic foundation. Now she is taking the first step to realising her dream.
