UIC community conducts COVID-19 testing

Published on 15 June 2021

UIC conducted the COVID-19 nucleic acid test campaign for the whole campus with the Zhuhai Centre for Disease Control and Prevention on 8 June. The testing was to strengthen COVID-19 prevention and ensure the physical health of UIC's staff and students.

Sampling work was carried out in an orderly manner by medical staff from Guangdong No 2 Provincial People's Hospital (Zhuhai High-tech Zone People's Hospital). More than 30 volunteers from UIC supported the medical staff.

On 7 June evening, UIC urgently activated the Staff and Student Activity Centre as a temporary spot for nucleic acid testing. UIC organised all staff and students to take the test after receiving orders from the Zhuhai High-tech Zone government. Administration departments, including the Medical and Health Education Office (MHEO), the Student Affairs Office (SAO), the Human Resources Office (HRO), the Estates and Campus Development Office (ECDO), cooperated and participated in the campaign.

Thirty-four volunteers comprised of UIC staff and students began work at 7:30 am. They were responsible for maintaining order, check and register information. The testing work was carried out efficiently and orderly due to joint efforts by staff and students.
