The Guangdong University Swimming Championship was held in October 2020. UIC's swimming team excelled again with the team ranking tenth in the province. Team members and UIC students, Chen Peizhu, Zhong Xianxin, Gu Yuer and Huang Guanni, won first place in the women's group A 4×50 m freestyle relay in 2 minutes and 17 seconds. The leading coach of the UIC team, Mr Gao Peng, won second prize for being an excellent coach in group A.

The event was hosted by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, executed by Guangdong Student Sports Federation and undertook by South China Normal University. A total of 797 athletes from more than 50 universities in the province competed fiercely in the two-day race.
