Fighting COVID at UIC

Published on 11 April 2022

Staff and students at UIC have been fighting together to prevent the virus.

In addition to the medical workers from the hospital, UIC staff also volunteered at the mass testing site on campus.

Some classes have been switched online due to travel restrictions. Students are encouraged to make plans for their studies and utilise their time wisely.

Before entering the campus, staff and students must present their health code and travel code. They continue to practice personal hygiene, keep social distance, and avoid any unessential gatherings in their daily life.

There are canteens and stores on the campus that make sure students and staff members can get their supplies and meet their basic needs.

The Estates Management Office organises staff to disinfect the campus regularly.

There are plenty of events for students to attend on campus:

Lunchtime concert

Tree-planting

To help students release stress from studies and life, the Personal Growth and Counseling Centre organised several psychology-related lectures, and students are also encouraged to read more.

A Mindfulness Room for students to meditate at the Learning Resource Centre

Students and staff could use the facilities of the Sports Complex for free, paid by a UIC Foundation fund. The opening hours are also extended; same as the classrooms, Learning Resource Centre and the Staff and Student Activities Centres.

UIC also prepared free fruits and snacks in canteens and student dormitories for them to collect
